Unlock creative potential with explorations into intuitive print, handmade paper, mixed media and folded bookmaking techniques.

In this class participants will dive deep into their personal stories so that they can unlock the keys to their creative passion. They will devise and implement a number of creative take home projects using handmade paper, simple printmaking and mixed media techniques designed to stimulate their imagination, unlock their intuition and activate their arts practice.

 

In this three day workshop participants will learn:

  • Mixed media techniques to mine the imagination

  • Making paper

  • Intuitive print mark making

  • Mini and woven bookmaking structures

  • Steps to activate and energise an arts practice

 

At the end of the workshop students will have a personal toolbox to take on their journey of self expression. They will have learnt easy steps to activate their arts practice using mixed media techniques including making paper, mono printing, mark making, creating a series and creating their own vision boards.

 

Day One: Inspire your Imagination– paper making & collage

  • Making paper

  • Creating a Creative Vision Board collage

  • Mixed media collage

 

Day Two: Unlock your Intuition – mark making & printmaking

  • Intuitive mark making and botanical printing on paper (with Samantha Tannous)

  • Creative self expression using found objects

  • Assembling an intuitive Dream Box

 

Day Three: Activate your Arts Practice –folded & woven bookmaking

  • Weave a folded mini book

  • Activate a series using folded books with text

  • Construct a unique Power Stick

 

Tutor to supply: Portfolio materials, maps, index cards, printmaking equipment, glue, paper, some paints, inks & alphabet stamps

 

Materials BYO:           

  • Participants to bring their own apron (optional latex gloves)

  • Bring a special small box, or tin that you love

  • Any old or unusual keys

  • Any personal art kit eg inks and favourite paints, brushes, knives, cutting boards etc

  • Any paper ephemera you have
