Create collaged artworks using postcards and travel ephemera
In this class participants will learn basic collage techniques including layering, composition and inclusions to create a set of 12 collaged artworks on postcards.
Collage is a technique which can incorporate many elements including maps, tickets, stamps text and found paper ephemera to create a visual story.
In this one day workshop participants will learn:
Finding a focus
Layering techniques using opacity and transparency
Basic composition techniques to create interest
Basic colour theory and its application
How to use additions to create compositional storytelling
At the end of the workshop students will have a collection of postcards which can be used for future upcycled art projects including cards, calendars and other digital merchandising.
Tutor to supply: Travel brochures, maps, paper ephemera and glue sticks. (Scissors will not be provided)
ESSENTIAL: Participants to bring 12 standard size postcards
Personal travel ephemera including tickets, maps etc
Any personal art kit eg ink, brushes etc
